Zoooooooooooooooooooo
Today we went to the Zoo! And the Night Safari! It was very good. We moved hostels this morning to one that is alittle more lively and in a better location. We are in the middle of Little India so everything is bustling and bright and fun. Sunday is the night when everyone gets together to relax after a weeks work so on the way home this evening there were people everywhere. Well MEN everywhere.. only 2 women we saw. I saw a row of four men walking down the road holding hands, not sure why but it looked affectionate! There are lots of food markets and places to eat around here for hardly any cost. We have been buying cheap noodles and cooking htem up with a carrot for our dinner.. very exciting fare I know. Cheap though.
We got to the Zoo around noon and didn't leave the night safari until about ten so thelegs are aching a little.. didn't really notcie it while we were going rounf because the animals were amazing. It was really well laid out and I think we managed to see almost everything. (Ser - I finally got to see that darned Komodo Dragon that has so far evaded us!) The night safari doesn't open until 7.30 so it is already dark when you get inside. We walked up to the top of the park following trails with Lions, Bushbabies, Lots of Deer, and lots of other nocturnal animals. Then we got the tram all the way round the edges of the park and walked back down to the exit at the bottom. On the way back there was a suspension bridge or 'Bridge of Suspense' as it was marked on the map. The tour guides on the tram were really funny. They sounded really excited aobut everything and kept going on about 'the complex web of life'. The best quote was "Stripes of the Tiger... Strength of the Lion..BUT... doesn't it just look like a dog?" (It was a hyena they were on about by the way)
Tonight we had our first beer. Mmmmm. Worrying about how much money we have spent here though so we shared it :P
The dorm is huge but partitioned so we have two bunks in a little alcove. It's midnight and my bed looked really comfy.
