Dagnabbit!@$#!!!

Yesterday we went diving on the Swan Wreck. Sort of. The sea was really really rough and both Tom and I got very seasick. It wasn't much better in the water as it was really choppy and hard to breathe through our regulators. We got to the rope and started to descend to the ship. Well everyone except me. When we were kitting up I told the guy that last time I was in salt water I needed 8 weights on my weight belt but he wouldn't listen cos he was a cocky plonker. Eventually when I couldn't descend he gave me another weight which still wasn't enough but I managed to get down a little way. Already pretty stressed cos of the conditions and the weight problem, I had trouble equalising. We had been informed on the boat that if this happened you had ONE MINUTE AND ONE MINUTE ONLY to sort yourself out or you had to go back to the boat. Rather than being a nice helpful man, our guide decided to tap his watch in my face and stress me out even more. Needless to say I had to go back to the boat and stay there until the others came back. By this time I was pretty upset, angry, stressed and tired out (not a good combination under 25 metres of water) so I decided to stay on the boat for the second dive. Jez and Ben tell me that it was ace once you actually got down to the wreck but that it was pretty stressful for them too to get that far. So anyway, I was pretty pissed off at throwing $170 down the drain but I suppose it's better than drowning myself or exploding my ears.

Also, we have hit another problem... The trains are all booked up and we can't leave Perth until next Sunday. DUH! So if anyone had any ideas for another week in Perth please let us know! We are probably going to do some kind of trip out of Perth and explore some of it's surrounds. It's a bit of a bugger since we are now having to go straight to Sydney rather than stop in Adelaide but I'm sure we'll cope.

So. Great news all round.

In other news, I have REALLY brown hands. There is a distinctive line where my wetsuit ended and my hands turn brown. It's pretty funny. True story.
